WRITE US!Our founder is Gabor Czigléczki, MD, PhD, the specialist of spinal endoscopic and neurosurgical techniques. Endoscopic methods are the peak of minimally invasive methods that aim to reduce the disadvantages of traditional spine surgeons and provide faster rehabilitation and healing. Beside thousands of surgeries, several books, articles and presentations hallmark Dr. Czigléczki’s career “My mission is to heal my patients with the most modern techniques. Spinal diseases are a worldwide problem and they can cause many devastating symptoms which can ruin the quality of life of patients. For many decades, the spine surgeons have meant big surgeries with many complications. Both patients and doctors required minimally invasive techniques, so endoscopic techniques evolved. A new generation endoscopic techniques hallmarks mostly my professionality with which many spinal diseases (disc herniation, stenosis, vertebral slippage –listhesis, etc.) can be treated in contrary to the previously developed endoscopic methods.”- says Dr. Czigléczki
In 2018, Dr. Czigléczki’s team was among the firsts in Europe who have started to perform the spinal biportal technique. The roots of this technique come from South-Korea and Dr. Czigléczki learnt the principles directly from the developer. Through the years, the method had many modifications and was developed to perfection.
During the spine surgeon two portals are used, one for the viewing and one for the manipulation of instruments. With these two portals, incisions are minimized and the normal structures of spine are preserved (for example spinal holding muscles). In contrary, traditional surgery needs big incision and extended separation of spinal muscles, so many complications may occur postoperatively (infections, scar formation, stability problems, etc.). As the methods uses high magnification optic, the surgeon sees the nerves from a very close view, so the safety of a surgery can also increase.
Why is new generation? For many years, uniportal endoscopic techniques have been performed in clinical practice, especially in Europe. The uniportal method may also provide good results, however the indications and surgical manipulation possibilities are limited. It means many patients can’t benefit from it (specific disc herniation cases, severe stenosis cases, patients with vertebral slippage, etc.). The biportal technique solves this problem, and endoscopy is available for all of these patients.
Since 2018, hundreds of surgeries have been performed with the biportal technique. Dr. Czigléczki and his colleagues became a leading team of biportal technique team in Europe. As many patients came from worldwide, Dr. Czigléczki-Endoscopic Spine Center was established in 2023. The Spine Center has two departments. Outpatient treatments including consultations and pain management take place in a separate medical station. Surgeries are being performed in Hungary’s famous private hospital building, the “Szent-Magdolna” Private Hospital.
“To my pleasure, we can contribute to the healing of more and more patients worldwide in every year and I believe we can find the solution to every kind of problem, together with our patients.” -says Dr. Czigléczki
Beside endoscopic surgery, the center offers other minimally invasive techniques for the patients. Ultrasound guided techniques can be divided into two main categories. First is for pain therapy without the disadvantages of X-ray guided pain management. Second is for peripheral nerve diseases, especially carpal tunnel syndrome. With ultrasound guidance, the carpal tunnel syndrome can be treated with a 2 millimeters incision instead of the traditional 5-7 centimeters. This type of carpal tunnel release can be found only in 3 centers in Europe.
Spinal stem cell therapies are continuously evolving in clinical practice. Currently, mesenchymal stem cell can be used for pain reduction and spinal stability improvement. These therapies are also available in the Dr. Czigléczki- Endoscopic Spine Center.
The operating language of Dr. Czigléczki-Endoscopic Spine Center is English but translator can be applied for most of the languages (if needed the Center organizes it). Consultations are also available in offline and online manners. The listed prices can vary according to the extension of diseases (official price offer is sent after consultation in case of surgery).
