Ultrasound guided carpal tunnel syndrome surgery

How is ultrasound guided carpal tunnel release performed?

The ultrasound-guided method takes place within the framework of one-day surgical care. The incision is made in the wrist area, a total size of 2 mm! Through the tiny opening, the surgeon leads a thin metal instrument into the carpal tunnel. All steps are performed under ultrasound supervision, so the surgeon knows exactly where his device is and how to avoid blood vessels/nerves. The thin metal tool used as a guide for the second device, the latter ending with a tiny hooked scalpel. After the surgeon has re-checked the position of the instruments in the carpal tunnel, the scalpel cuts through the thickened ligament from below and inside, which is causing the problems and symptoms. Because of the small wound, there is no need to sew, simply sterile gluing and bandaging is done.

The picture shows the scar of a traditional cut performed by another surgeon (red arrows), while next to it is the scar of the ultrasound-guided method performed by Dr. Czigléczki (green arrow). The difference is striking!

Background

Why choose the ultrasound guided carpal tunnel syndrome treatment?

Precision and safety: Thanks to the ultrasound-guided technique, the surgeon can follow the movement of the surgical device in real time, avoiding damage to important structures and ensuring that the intervention is as accurate as possible.

Minimal invasiveness, quick recovery: The surgery requires an incision of only 2-3 millimeters, which significantly reduces the healing time and the chance of complications. Most patients can use their operated hand as early as the next day (in easier everyday tasks) and return to work after a few weeks.

Less pain and faster healing: Unlike traditional surgical methods where larger incisions are required, ultrasound guided carpal tunnel syndrome treatment causes less scarring and pain.

Don’t let carpal tunnel syndrome limit your life! If you’ve already noticed symptoms, act now to avoid permanent damage.

includes all hospitalization costs

local anesthesia

It is performed separately only at the request of the patient, normally local anesthesia is used

if a hand operated on elsewhere needs to be reoperated

if the ultrasound-guided method cannot be used for some reason (very rare case)

control of healing

Ultrasound examination of the surgical site

Don’t let pain affect your everyday life!
